Montreal is the largest city in the province of Quebec and certainly not one to miss. There’s plenty on offer all year round, regardless of your age, interests or budget. Whether you’re into art galleries, history, nature, culture, fashion or – as an adolescent – are more concerned about getting inebriated and picking up, you won’t be disappointed. Montreal’s official language is French, but don’t worry if your French vocabulary is limited to oui, chocolate croissant. Everyone speaks English and will understand you perfectly fine. (And unlike some of the locals of France, the locals of Montreal didn’t appear to want to bash me with their baguettes. At least, not that I noticed!)
