Sydney: Botanical Gardens
Get There: Enter via Macquarie Street from Circular Quay, Art Gallery Road or Mrs Macquaries Rd from Woolloomooloo Wharf
It might sound like a Grandma thing to do, but the botanical gardens are lush as fuck and free to enter any time of day! It’s probably one of the best ways to explore Sydney’s harbour as it wraps around from the opera house to Woolloomooloo Wharf, where you can watch rich people eating at restaurants you’ll never be able to afford. There is a shitty café within that might be more in your price range… but we recommend entering on a full belly and checking out the plethora of botanical species, losing yourself in the maze of walkways and getting shat on by Fruit Bats!
The gardens host a range of events including the picturesque Open-Air Cinema, Harbour Life (epic electronic-music festival) and various pop-up plays or Operas. The Andrew Boy Charlton Pool lies on the Woolloomooloo side is one of the most fuck-off places to go swimming in Sydney, charging $6.50 per visit.
