Gold Coast: Little Nerang Creek
Get There: On Gold Coast Springbrook Road, on your left just after Polly’s Country Kitchen, Little Nerang Creek will run under the round. There’s a carpark with toilets on your immediate left.
The best part about this roadside delight is that there’s hardly ever anyone here, and if there is, they’ll usually have brought a dog. A large and very deep pool feeds a pleasant stream, and the bush is always abuzz with the hum of cicadas. To find the water, cross the park and bush-bash through the undergrowth – there are some well-worn paths just past the sheltered picnic area. Its location – only 10 minutes inland from Mudgeeraba or Tallai – makes it the ideal quick escape from the doldrums of GC suburbia.
