Sydney: Gordon’s Bay
Get There: Cut through the well-worn bushy path behind Arcadia St in Coogee to reach the south side, or walk down from Clovelly headland car park to reach the north.
If you’d rather hang with schools of fish than crowds of tourists clad in budgie smugglers, look no further than the idyllic paradise that is Gordon’s Bay marine reserve. Wedged between Coogee and Clovelly, this semi-secret spot is the perfect place to chill out just moments from the big smoke. Funnily enough, the rock shelf is lined with sunburners smoking weed and tanning their nips. Bring a snorkel, a lilo and a hat, because the shade cast by the ferny cliffs is minimal, and come at low tide if you wanna poke around in the rockpools.
