Ye old London is a feast for the senses. However, if you are vegetarian, sometimes those senses can be clogged with Sunday roasts, fish ‘n’ chips, bacon sandwiches and scotch eggs. It can be hard to find somewhere delicious to stuff your face with non-animals in an animal-eating city. So you can imagine how bloody excited I was when Ethos opened up earlier this year, a vegetarian restaurant that is not-only delicious, but a self-serving buffet where you pay for your meal by weight; the perfect combination for a poor hobo to work out how much she can afford to eat before her card gets declined at the counter. Be careful as the food is delicious (they even have vegetarian scotch eggs!), which means it’s very easy to load your plate up so that by the time it gets weighed at the counter, you’ve accidentally spent your week’s budget in one go. If you want to be cheap, leave behind the scotch eggs and meatless ribs. They do take-away as well, simply grab and go and enjoy eating your delicious non-flesh meal while everyone else chows down on their Sunday roast.
Hobo Tip: For the stingy hobo, grab a small plate: you’ll be forced to take less food and will end up paying considerably less.
