This hostel claims to be “the most famous hostel in Barcelona”, and yes, it is pretty rad: staff are super helpful and everyone is keen to party their pants off. Located in the centre of the city in a classic Spanish plaza with bars and restaurants literally underneath the hostel, the buzzing atmosphere and ease of having an amazing time in Barcelona puts the hostels score up to a 8/10. With free maps, bike hire, quiz nights, pub crawls and free breaky (and dinner if you get in quick enough)!
Note: Don’t stay in the 22 bed mixed dorm if you want to get over 10 minutes of shut eye. I made the mistake of coming here after two weeks of Oktoberfest, sleep deprived and not in my healthiest state. The 18-year-old English fellas on their first guy trip away did not help with the “rest” situation. To sleep, go the four-bed dorm.
