Buenos Aires: San Telmo Markets
Get There: Plaza Dorrego (corner of Defensa & Humberto Primo) every Sunday.
These kick-ass markets are some of the biggest the city has on offer. It’s beautiful to stroll down the entire 12 block length of stalls. Pick up some empanadas or choripan to scoff on as you meander down the street, browsing artisanal bits and bobs, such as hand-painted signs and trinket boxes, and then, of course, the typical tourist tripe.
Hobo Tip: Don’t speak English to the stall owners unless you really have to. Just like South-East Asia, they like to rip off foreigners.
