Vancouver: Stanley Park
This large slice of nature in the middle of the built-up city is home to trees too big to even hug. The dense forest trails through the park make you forget you’re in a city altogether. A seawall path lines the outskirts and passes some pebbly beaches, and it takes about an hour to do the loop on foot or half that by bike. Check out the great view of Lions Gate Bridge and North Vancouver and pack a picnic or feed the giant seagulls that I’m convinced are on steroids.
