Vancouver: Granville Island
Get There: 1661 Duranleau St, Vancouver, BC V6H 3S3
On the harbour, under a bridge with pillars covered in moss, lies a trendy little industrial hub with local distilleries, breweries, restaurants, markets and quirky specialty shops including a broomstick store that stocks Nimbus 2000s. On the water docks there’s theaters, galleries and water taxis to downtown. The markets are what most come to the island for, with colourful, fresh produce, cheese stalls, homemade pasta, deli selections, fudge stalls, pastries, butchers and a few nick-knacks, crafts and potent flowers. Granville Island is a cool place to check out and wander round – it’s creative, artsy and stylish.
